Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (C.B.T.)

Cognitive-behavioral therapy (C.B.T.) is a goal-oriented and evidence-based form of therapy that teaches people how to free themselves from negative patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving that are self-defeating.  Scientific research has shown C.B.T. to be an effective treatment for a wide range of problems such as depression, anxiety, anger management issues, low self-esteem, social anxiety, panic attacks, and relationship problems.

Cognitive-behavioral helps people learn how their self-talk or way of thinking plays a significant role in shaping their emotions and behaviors.  By becoming aware of their negative self-talk can begin to identify and alter patterns of thinking that are self-defeating.

Cognitive-behavioral therapy empowers people to gain self-awareness, insight, knowledge, and skills to improve the quality of their lives. C.B.T. helps people to identify and change negative beliefs and thinking patterns that contribute to self-defeating emotions and behaviors.

Helping people to develop and maintain a more empowered, respectful, loving, and encouraging way of thinking about themselves and their lives is one way that C.B.T. helps people break negative patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving that contribute to their depressed moods, anxiety, lack of confidence, fear of failure, social anxiety, and poor self-esteem.

C.B.T. uses a variety of educational approaches to help clients gain the knowledge they need to make the changes that they want to make in their lives.  Reading materials, books, worksheets, and digital audio recordings are used to help clients learn and apply cognitive-behavioral therapy techniques.
